Contemporary Fireplace

Even though the entertainment center is the center of a room, it still does not possess the draw of a contemporary fireplace. A contemporary fireplace serves as the focal point of a room and defines the architecture.
Contemporary fireplaces offer a variety of options. One of the most common options is the material out of which to make it. High-end contemporary fireplaces may be made of fine wood, such as walnut, cherry or oak. Stone is another possibility, and many homeowners prefer the look of marble, limestone or granite for their contemporary fireplaces.
Cheaper contemporary fireplaces are also available. Plywood is an acceptable material once it has been properly finished. Cast stone, concrete that has been formed into a shell for a contemporary fireplace, is another option.
In addition to decoration and materials, contemporary fireplaces also offer the option of what fuel to burn. Wood is of course the default option, but natural gas and electricity are other possibilities for a contemporary fireplace. Electric fireplaces are considered to be less expensive, although natural gas fireplaces produce a real flame. Another option for fuel is gel, which is slightly more expensive, but both produces an actual flame and is less inherently risky than natural gas.
